This Day in Newburyport History

On this day in 1799, General George Washington departed this life in the 68th year of his age. A eulogy was subsequently delivered before the First Religious Society in Newburyport. Just two months later you could conveniently buy your very own copy of the eulogy sold at Angier March’s bookstore located on the north side of Market Square.
