This Day in History

On this day in 1869, John Lord reported that three barns had been destroyed by fires. The fire began in famed dance instructor Louis Papanti’s barn between Broad and Tyng streets. The night was very windy and the fire soon spread to Mr. Quill’s barn and then to David Edgerly’s barn and shed.
