Programs at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats

Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, located at One Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Eagle Festival Eagle Eye Scavenger Hunt

Now through Feb. 8

Use your eagle eyes in our new scavenger hunt. Visit Newburyport merchants who are Eagle Festival Friends and find hidden eagle facts in their stores. You can download a scavenger hunt form or pick one up at the Joppa Flats Education Center or at Newburyport Public Library.

Saturday Morning Birding

Join our experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

The Wonder And The Wow: Bald Eagles Along The Merrimack

Family educator Lisa Hutchings takes adults to look for wintering bald eagles along the river.

Join Joppa Flats education coordinator Dave Larson and search the areas around the open water of the lower Merrimack River for wintering bald eagles.
