NEWBURYPORT — Have you been dreaming of becoming a big game hunter on an African photo safari, of owning an iPad mini or attending a Red Sox, Celtics or Bruins game?
Do you want to own a signed baseball or basketball, or a children’s book signed by the author and illustrator, Donna Seim and Susan Spellman?
These are just some of the hundreds of items up for bid at the 30th annual Opportunity Works “Lend A Hand” auction on Feb. 22. The popular annual event is held in partnership with Comcast and will be broadcast live from noon to 9 p.m. on local public access TV channels in the Greater Newburyport and Haverhill areas.
It will also be available for online viewing at www.portmedia.org.
Again this year, some items can be seen and bids will be accepted at www.biddingforgood.com/opportunityworks, leading up to Preview Night and the televised auction. Other items will go on to the live auction.
The Preview Night will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Nock Middle School, 70 Low St.
There is no admission fee, and pre-bids will be accepted. Preview Night bids will be posted during the auction on Saturday.
Winning bidders will be called the day of the auction to confirm their winning bid. Items should be picked up and paid for on Sunday, Feb. 23, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Nock Middle School.
