Liam Maxwell Rich achieved high honors for the first quarter at Boston College High School.

Katherine Randall, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2016, was honored for academic excellence during the college’s annual Sarah and James Bowdoin Day ceremony, held Oct. 25.

Michael Zilembo was named to the dean’s list at UMass Boston for the spring semester.

Calyn O’Connor was named to the dean’s list at UMass Boston for the spring semester.

---

Daniel Dacey, who majored in clinical lab sciences, was recognized by UMass Lowell as a Commonwealth Honors Program Scholar at the May 18 commencement. The distinction is given to bachelor’s degree recipients who have been enrolled in the UMass LowellCommonwealth Honors Program as undergraduates and have completed a senior honors thesis under the guidance of a faculty adviser.

Madison Arndt, a student at Central Catholic High School, was awarded the 2013 St. Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience.

Devin Larsen was inducted into Ithaca College’s Oracle Honor Society in November. First-year students who maintain a GPA that puts them in the top 10 percent of all students in their school throughout their first full academic year are invited into the society. Larsen is majoring in physics in the college’s School of Humanities and Sciences. He was also inducted into the Ithaca College Oracle Honor Society on Nov. 4.

Caroline Kern, a 2011 graduate of Pentucket Regional Senior High School, participated in the fall 2013 Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program. Kern, who is majoring in psychology at Bates, spent the fall 2013 semester participating in the School for International Training Health Program. She is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. David S. Kern.
