Immaculate Conception wins ExxonMobil grant

---- — NEWBURYPORT — Immaculate Conception School in Newburyport has been awarded a $500 ExxonMobil Educational Alliance grant through the efforts of State Street Mobil.

The nationwide program is designed to provide fuel retailers such as State Street Mobil an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through grants to neighborhood schools. The grants are designed to help schools purchase supplemental learning tools in the fields of math and science, such as lab supplies and textbooks, or to fund math- and science-related field trips. The grants are funded by the ExxonMobil Corporation and GlobalAlliance.

“We are proud to participate in the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program, and provide Immaculate Conception School with this type of financial support,” Andrew de Bernardo, owner of State Street Mobil, said in a release. “It further demonstrates State Street Mobil’s commitment to serve and better our community.”

Immaculate Conception School Principal Mary Reardon said in the prepared statement that the grant supports her school’s mission to continually supply our students with the most current academic tools and materials.” Located on Washington Street, Immaculate Conception serves approximately 300 Catholic boys and girls in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from 15 surrounding communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
