Hydrant flushing begins in Georgetown

Newburyport Daily News

---- — GEORGETOWN — The Georgetown Water Department will be flushing the hydrants throughout the system during the daytime in April and May to remove the iron and manganese that has settled in the water mains. The flushing will start this week at the water tanks on Baldpate Road and work outward to the ends of the distribution system over the next several weeks. Watch for short periods of dirty water and low pressures during this time.

The Georgetown Water Department thanks residents for their patience during this period of system maintenance.
