Triton middle-schoolers in foreign language exams, contests

BYFIELD — Several foreign language students at Triton Regional Middle School volunteered to take the National French and Spanish Exams and also to participate in the poster, essay and podcast contests sponsored by the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association.

Seventh-graders participated in the National French test in February. The students on Caroline Hannache's team, 7-3, who took the test are Kayla Bastolla, Kendra Beauparlant, Samantha Brown, Jacob Cole, Nicole Coredeau, Ethan Esber, Justine Gearin, Noelle Indigara, Emma Lent, Skyla Lewis, Brendan Mahoney, Sarah Mc.Lellan, Kate Morrison, Brenda Pham, Dana Rybicki, Jessica Vedrani, Mike Velardocchia. The students on Carol Regazinni's team, 7-2, are Tom Anderson, Abigail Bennett, Isabelle Berthoud, John Connolly, Sophia Corsetti, Shannon Dalton, Wyatt DesRoches, Renee Dolloff, Kyle Gagne, Chris Gardella, Amanda Koski, Alyssa Lawson, Hope Leonard, Michelle Martens, Peter Morrison, Emma Pickett, Abigail Pike, Victor Pinheiro, Mel Primpas, Camelia Rogers, Hannah Reilly, Erin Savage, Jakob Scopelites, Carter Shearer, Cecilia Shelter and Isabella St. Arnault.

Grade eight students participating in the National French Test on March 7 were from Shirley Faulkner's team, 8-2: Tess Broll, Hans Ernst, Ryan Estes, Brendan Farrell, Jacqueline Gillespie, Sierra Goujon, Jamie Kelly, Olivia Lees, Brad Levasseur, Britaney Miller, Kayleen-Faith Noonan, Sadie O'Keefe, Megan Paulis, Eric Rybicki, Michael Taggart, Danielle Umanita, Parker West and Grace William. From Ann Welch's team, 8-3: Adam Baletsa, Madeleine Berthoud, Abigail Caron, Emily Cashman, Hannah Clark, Cecily DeAngelo, Sergei Franson, Bethany Gates, Ashley Greco, Leo Heffernan, Shannon Lyons, Brianna Mac.Eachern, Nicole Malhoit, David Moore, Hannah Morgan, Brendan Muldowny, Jacob Norton, Abigail Ostrander, Lucas Reiniger, Jackie Robert, Shawn Robertson, Kyle Stackpole, Nicolas Sweeney, Anthony Theriault and Mason Winslow.

This year's theme for the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association's poster, essay and podcast contests was "Foreign Languages: Our Global Lens." Essay entries from Triton Middle School students were submitted by Abigail Pike, Peter Jankowski, Michael Marcolini and Sam Michel. Poster entries were created by Cameryn Cox, Lilly Dow, Beatrice Donoghue, Hannah Reilly and Shawn Robertson. Podcast entries were made by Janessa Doucette and Alyson Toppi.
