Fall programs start at Rowley Family Connection

The Rowley Family Connection, a grant-funded program aimed at increasing and improving Rowley’s resources for families with young children, has announced its fall line-up of free programming for residents.

Families from surrounding towns are welcome to participate as well for a nominal one-time fee of $5.

The programs, most of which are offered at the Pine Grove School, are designed to encourage language development with singing, crafts, creative movement and literature. Programs include preschool playgroup, traveling story hour, Lego club, adventures in art, Joppa Flats nature school, and magic shows, among others. There will be a Parent Information Night at the Pine Grove School on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Parents of students in kindergarten through grade 3 are invited to this session to view the classrooms, meet the teachers and hear a curriculum overview.

New fall programs kick off at the Rowley Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Programming changes, based on a survey that was recently conducted, includes story time sessions now occurring three days a week.

New programs include “Stories and Songs” and pajama time on Thursday evenings. Visit www.rowleylibrary.org or call the library at 978-948-2850 for details. All programs are free and open to the public.

The Triton Regional School Committee will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

The Friends of the Rowley Public Library are collecting donations for their second annual holiday basket raffle. Baskets containing goodies with a regular retail value of at least $50 are sought, and can be reflective of a theme, such as Christmas or Hanukkah, or contain the items for a new hobby, such as scrapbooking or gardening. Baskets with alcohol, tobacco or perishable items will not be accepted.
