Programs at Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats

---- — NEWBURYPORT — Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center, One Plum Island Turnpike, is a natural history education and visitor center that is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday and Monday holidays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mass Audubon members receive discounts on programs. INTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY

Mass Audubon’s Camp Wildwood Director Bob Speare leads this workshop and field trip. Bring a camera and learn more about its capabilities, especially out in the wild.

SATURDAY MORNING BIRDING

Join our experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

FALL BIRDING ON CAPE ANN

The fall is a wonderful time to join Sanctuary Director, Bill Gette, to observe birds along the rocky coast of Cape Ann. Look for Red Throated Loons, Red Necked Grebes, Harlequin Ducks, Scoters and more.

Tomorrow, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Meet at the Fisherman’s Statue on Western Avenue in Gloucester.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIRDING

Join Joppa Flats Sanctuary Director Bill Gette and USFWS veteran David Weaver for this weekly birding field trip in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. Appropriate for all birding levels.

Visit the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Merrimack River, Salisbury Beach State Reservation, and other very productive sites in Newbury and Rowley to observe migrating seabirds, ducks, and land birds.
