Holy Week services at area churches

Holy Saturday: 7:30 p.m., gather for Easter Vigil

Easter Sunday: 7:15 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon. There is no 5:30 p.m. Liturgy on Easter Sunday.

Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market St., Amesbury

Palm Sunday: Worship at 10 a.m.

Wednesday: Passover Encounter at 6 p.m. Nathan Joiner, assistant to the rabbi at Ruach Israel, Needham, will lead through a Seder Supper. Make reservations by calling the church at 978-388-0930.

Maundy Thursday: Communion Service, 7-8 p.m. in the chapel on first floor for a service of worship and communion to commemorate the Last Supper.

Good Friday: Prayer & Meditation, noon-3 p.m. The sanctuary will be open for those who wish to pray and meditate on the Passion of Christ. Scriptures will be read every half-hour.

Easter Sunday: Worship at 10 a.m. to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the ordinance of Baptism.

Merrimacport United Methodist Church, 4 Green St., Merrimac

Saturday, April 12: Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. Kids will hunt for candy and other goodies, and there will be Easter crafts as well. All children through grade 5 are welcome to attend.

Palm Sunday: Worship service, 10 a.m., with palm branches to wave and sacred dance performing.

Maundy Thursday: Tenebrae Service, 7 p.m. A service of readings and extinguishing candles while the sanctuary is stripped of its symbols and linens.

Good Friday: Methodist service at 7 p.m. co-hosted by the Merrimacport and Good Shepherd United Methodist churches, held at Good Shepherd, 471 Main St., Haverhill.

Holy Saturday: Prayer vigil, open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for all to come in for quiet reflection and prayer.

Easter: Morning worship, 10 a.m.

Old South Church, Federal and School streets, Newburyport

Maundy Thursday: Seder Supper at 6 p.m.

Good Friday: Service at 7 p.m.

Saturday: Prayer Vigil from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
