Motorcycle accident victim in serious condition

SALISBURY — A New Hampshire man remains in a Boston-area hospital following an early Sunday morning motorcycle crash in which he lost control of the bike as he was merging onto Route 110 from Interstate 95.

Clayton Spires of Rochester, N.H., was listed in serious condition yesterday by a Massachusetts General Hospital spokeswoman.

The 44-year-old victim, flown by helicopter to Boston, wasn’t wearing a helmet when he crashed his Harley Davidson around 4:30 a.m., according to initial reports from state police.

The westbound ramp was closed as state police and Salisbury firefighters responded to the scene and then as a state police accident reconstruction team conducted its investigation.
