Introduction to Genealogy

The Amesbury Public Library will be offering a four-week Introduction to Genealogy workshop with Richard Doyle on June 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 1-3 p.m. He will cover different websites to use for research, Ancestry.com will be used in the class, and other resources that are available. Feel free to bring a laptop. Registration is required. Those who register for the first class are registered for all. Pizza fundraiser for James Place

A fundraiser for James Place will be held at Flatbread Co. on Tuesday, April 22, 5-9:30 p.m. James Place is an out-of-school program. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward the James Place Summer Field Trip Fund. For more, call 78-834-3009.

Old Newbury Crafters at Bartlett Museum Dinner

Geoffrey T. Blake of Old Newbury Crafters will present a silversmith demonstration at the Annual Dinner of the Bartlett Museum on Thursday, April 24, at Union Congregational Church, 350 Main St. The book “Legendary Locals of Amesbury” by Margie Walker will be signed and available for purchase.

Social time starts at 6 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and includes chicken breast, rice pilaf with roasted vegetables and strawberry shortcake. A vegetarian choice is also available.

This event is open to all at $15 a ticket. Please make reservations by April 14. Call Carol at 978-388-6591. A “50/50” raffle will be held to raise money to maintain the Bartlett Museum.

Lions Club holds recycling day

The Amesbury Lions Club will hold a Community Recycle Day on Saturday, April 26, at 23 Noel St. from 9 a.m. to noon. Discounts will be available for senior citizens and disabled adults. The Lions will also collect nonperishable food items and toiletry items for distribution by Our Neighbors’ Table food pantry.
