Rummage Sale at First Religious Society

The First Religious Society, Unitarian Universalist, at 26 Pleasant St., in Newburyport, will host a Rummage Sale today from 9 to 11:30 a.m. This is a bi-annual event featuring gently used garments, purses, shoes and accessories. Donations to the sale will be accepted during the week leading to the sale. For more information, call 978-465-0602, ext. 401.

St. Paul’s Church Annual Fall Fair and Silent Auction

St. Paul’s Church, 166 High St., Newburyport, will hold its annual Fall Fair and Silent Auction on Saturday, Nov. 10. The fair will begin at 9 a.m. and runs to 2 p.m. It will include baked goods, books, boutique, Christmas and Holiday Room, crafts, clothing, children’s clothing, jewelry, linens, raffle, treasure chest and more.

Bidding for the silent auction begins at 9 a.m. and goes to 2:30 p.m. The auction offers many quality items generously donated by local merchants and others, including gift certificates, furniture, antique items, jewelry, fine collectibles, goods and services. Breakfast will be available from 7:30 to 9 a.m. with lunch served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is St Paul’s largest fundraiser of the year and benefits the church’s many projects.

Congregation Ahavas Achim, 531/2 Washington St., Newburyport, offers the following services and events:

Shabbat services every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Adult education with Rabbi Avi Poupko Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. (except Nov. 21).

Nov. 3: Special lectures by John Badalament on “The Modern Dad’s Dilemma” at 9 a.m. and Dr. Danny Carlat on “Adderall Nation: Should Everybody Be On Stimulants? at 11:30 a.m.

Nov. 4: Hebrew School visit to House of Sarah Shapiro at Strawbery Banke Museum, Portsmouthm N.H.

Nov. 9: Friday Night Lights, 5:30 p.m.

Nov. 15: Rosh Chodesh Kislev morning minyan, 6:45 a.m.
