This Day in History

On this day in 1829, the General Court passed an act ceding to the U.S. government the land needed for a breakwater from the west shore of Plum Island, across Plum Island River to Woodbridge Island, in order to increase the depth of water on the bar at the mouth of the Merrimack River.
