Ice or no ice, Kerrigan to visit Amesbury

Milder weather won't curtail tomorrow's event

Kerrigan, who is originally from Stoneham, has remained a popular Boston sports figure since her rise to prominence in the early 1990s when she won a bronze medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics and then a silver in 1994.

Since retiring after the 1994 Winter Olympics, Kerrigan has continued to maintain a presence in the figure skating world and frequently appears in various ice shows. She occasionally does television appearances too, recently working as a special correspondent to “Entertainment Tonight” during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Kerrigan agreed to come to Amesbury after LaChance reached out to her through a mutual friend.
