This Day in Newburyport History

On this day in 1917, the Daily News reported that Newburyport might not be responsible for the losses of G. G. Ladd who lived at the foot of California Street. He claimed that $190 worth of goods in his cellar were damaged in flooding due to the poor condition of the culvert in front of his house.
