Children’s Basketball at Market St. Baptist

The Market Street Baptist Church, 37 Market St., is hosting an eight-week Junior Church Basketball Program for both girls and boys ages 5 to 8 in the church gym. This program is a noncompetitive, instructional league designed to teach fundamental basketball skills and basic Bible knowledge in a fun and engaging manner beginning Friday, Jan. 25, until Friday, March 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A suggested donation of $10 per child is requested to help defray expenses. Make check payable to: MSBC/Bball. Space is limited. To register in advance, contact the church office at 978-388-0930 or msbcsec@verizon.net. All are welcome. Registration is 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 25.

Women’s, men’s Bible study groups meet

St. James Episcopal Church, 120 Main St., Amesbury has a Bible study group, “The Women of Faith,” that meets every other Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Check the website for meeting dates. On Saturday Morning, join the Men’s Group for enlightening conversation and readings of the Bible. The Men’s Group meets on Saturdays at 9 a.m. Both Bible Study groups are open to the public. Choir invites

new members

Do you enjoy singing? The First Religious Society Choir is beginning a new season of music. They will sing music in a variety of styles, and include pieces from various faith traditions. Rehearsals are Thursday nights, 7:30 to 9, and again on Sunday mornings, 9 to 10 a.m. The Choir Room is upstairs behind the organ. Financial program

at Hope Church

Hope Community Church will present Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, with classes beginning Thursday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. The nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week where a different lesson is taught by Ramsey on DVD followed by a small-group discussion. Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing. Contact Janet Morris at 978-463-4673 for more information or to register.
