Help to avoid foreclosure offered by Seabrook nonprofit

SEABROOK — A local nonprofit was recently awarded funding from the federal department of Housing and Urban Development that may assist homeowners facing foreclosure.

Community Home Solutions, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, located at 14 New Zealand Road, offers free assistance for individuals and families in danger of losing their homes with loan modifications and foreclosure help. Although located in Seabrook, CHS can offer assistance in other states. Ellen Chase, executive director and HUD counselor, said the entire loan modification process may be done via email and fax if needed.

CHS has two HUD-certified staff available to assist clients who may be able to modify their home loan into an affordable mortgage, therefore saving and staying in their home. Community Home Solutions has been in business for seven years and has assisted over 500 people with loan modifications.

Community Home Solutions offers other free counselling programs to help those experiencing financial distress and offers rental and homelessness assistance for those who have lost their homes and need help finding shelter.
