Police Logs


The following items were recorded in the Newburyport police log:

Elizabeth M. Welch, 55, 69 High Road, Newbury, was arrested Sunday at 8:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and license not in possession. Officers Shawn Eaton and Joshua Tierney made the arrest on Dexter Lane.

Taylor Murphy Clement, 22, 135 West Main St,. Merrimac, was issued a summons Tuesday at 11:52 a.m. on charges of violating an abuse prevention order, annoying telephone calls and threat to commit a crime. The summons was issued at the Green Street police station.


The following items were recorded in the Amesbury police log:

Raymond J. Berard, 47, 48 Sterling Lane, Bradford, was arrested Sunday at 8:55 p.m. and charged with a previous warrant, driving under the influence of alcohol (fifth offense), operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license due to OUI, false name to police and marked lanes. Officers David Noyes, Carl Lesage and Sgt. Craig Bailey made the arrest on Macy Street.

Gideon DaSilva, 27, 3 Macy Terrace, Amesbury, was arrested Monday at 10:45 p.m. and charged with an equipment violation (two counts) and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Officers Thomas Nichols and Kevin Mulrenin made the arrest on Macy Terrace.

Anthony J. Aia, 20, 6 Carriage Hill Road, No. 16, Amesbury, was arrested Tuesday at 12:09 a.m. and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery. Officers Nichols, Noyes, Mulrenin, Michael Purvis and Sgt. Glenn Chaput made the arrest on Carriage Hill Road.


The following items were recorded in the West Newbury police log:

Trevor Levasseur, 20, 83 Middle St., West Newbury, was issued a summons Sunday at 5:44 p.m. on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license. Officer Barry Coker issued the summons on Middle Road.
