Crimeline for the Hamptons to hold 10-day fundraiser

HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. – Beginning Friday, March 22, through Monday, April 1, Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., will hold a 10-day fundraiser at the Poker Room at One Lafayette Road. The proceeds of this event will be used for rewards, scholarships and police-related donations.

For those who do not have experience playing games of chance, there will be a table for people to learn how to play.

Besides providing reward money and helping local police departments with items they need but are not funded in their budgets, Crimeline also funds a scholarship that is awarded annually to one local high school student who wishes to pursue a career in law enforcement or criminal justice, and to children of police officers from the Hampton, North Hampton, Hampton Falls or Seabrook police departments.

Winnacunnet High School graduate Kimberly Newcomb was the 2012 recipient of the $1,000 Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., scholarship. Applicants become eligible for the scholarship by composing an essay that is judged by Crimeline’s Board of Directors.

Since its inception in 1994, Crimeline’s funds provide rewards for anonymous tips that lead to arrests and indictments for crimes in North Hampton, Hampton, Hampton Falls and Seabrook. Knowledge provided about any crime, anywhere, if presented to Crimeline for the Hamptons, Inc., may be eligible for a reward. Up to $1,000 is rewarded for tips that lead to an arrest or indictment or help a criminal investigation.

Tips can be left anonymously at 603-929-1222, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers are asked to create an identifying code by which they will be notified if a reward is available, while still maintaining anonymity.
