---- — On this day in 1797, Jacob Little was born. The son of a prosperous Newburyport merchant, Little entered the counting house of a well-known merchant in New York at a very young age. By age 37, he was on top of the financial world, and was dubbed the “Napoleon of the Board” because of his tremendously large financial transactions.
