Town officials are organizing a community cleanup that will include homeowners, businesses and local and state agencies all working in unison to repair and restore the beach to its original beauty.

People will gather at the Plum Island Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and will clean up the beach from 9 a.m. to noon.

Following the work, everyone is invited back to the center parking lot for a barbecue sponsored by private citizens and local businesses.
