SEABROOK — The Provident Bank was robbed Friday afternoon, and police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who committed the crime.
According to Seabrook police, they responded to a call concerning a bank robbery at the Provident Bank at 2:38 Friday afternoon. The bank is located at 1 Provident Way, just beyond the Seabrook's intersection of Routes 1 and 107.
According to police, the suspect was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of money. He is described as a white male in his early 20s, with a thin build, dark hair and wearing dark blue jeans, brown boots, a thin black hooded sweatshirt, and black cotton gloves.
The suspect left the bank on foot, and was last seen running across Provident Way southbound, near Lafayette Road (Route 1). As of last night, he had not been apprehended.
Police have a picture of the suspect, taken by the bank's surveillance cameras, and are asking the the public's help in identifying the person of interest in the robbery.

This the third time the Seabrook branch of The Provident has been the target of a robbery. Most recently, on the Friday, morning, March 10, 2010, police received an emergency call from bank employees reporting a tall, thin, white man walked into the bank and presented a note demanding money.
Prior to that incident, in a similar crime, on Sunday afternoon, October 1, 2006, a man walked into the bank, handed a note to a teller that also demanded money.
Those responsible for both robberies were apprehended by police, prosecuted and convicted of the crimes.
