This Day in History

On this day in 1846, Edward Augustus Moseley, son of Edward Strong Moseley, was born in Newburyport. He is credited with being the father of employer’s liability and other labor laws. He will be longest remembered in obtaining the legal establishment of uniform standards for equipping railway cars with safety appliances.
