Free dental care for elders Oct. 19

Newburyport Daily News

---- — Hosted by Dr. Robin Davies of Parker River Dental, “Giving Back to the Community Day” is set for Saturday, Oct. 19.

An additional two practices are opening their doors in support of elder residents, as well. Newburyport will be represented by Drs. Reczek and Chiou of Newburyport Family Dental. Georgetown will be represented by Dr. Sharma of Georgetown Family Dentistry.

The local dentists are partnering with their community’s Council on Aging to provide senior residents with free dental care. All seniors wishing to receive free dental care must contact their town’s Council on Aging to get the registration forms. Appointments will only be made after the forms are completed. Each community’s Council on Aging will aid seniors with information about the program and its comprehensive dental exams, dental cleanings, digital X-rays and oral care products.

Davies began this program in 2011. With her staff and volunteers, she provides free dental services twice a year to seniors who have no dental insurance or financial means to afford dental care at her office at 3 Kent Way, Byfield. She and her staff can service up to 12 patients between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Reczek and Chiou will provide free dental service at Newburyport Family Dental, 1 Inn St., Newburyport. Contact the Newburyport Council on Aging to receive the forms and instructions on scheduling an appointment.

Sharma and staff will provide free dental service at Georgetown Family Dentistry, 37 East Main St., Georgetown. Contact the Georgetown Council on Aging for forms and instructions on scheduling an appointment.
