Children in grades 1 to 4 are invited to engage in wildlife learning experiences with a different theme each week. Come for one or sign up for the series.

PARENT/CHILD WALKABOUT: CATCH, DIG & TRAP AT ROUGH MEADOWS

Come outside with Lisa Hutchings to explore the ecology, sights and sounds of our local habitats as we look for critters at Rowley’s Rough Meadows. A fun, energetic format for families with children ages 3 to 6. The fee covers one adult and one child. Choose morning or afternoon session.

Friday, Oct. 12, 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 2:30 p.m. Meet at Rough Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary, Rowley. Fee $15. Registration is required.

SATURDAY TEACHER WORKSHOP: BIRD BANDING STATION

Teacher-naturalist Lisa Hutchings leads a series of indoor/outdoor workshops that will help teachers of prekindergarten through grade 5 students with nature education

Join our experienced leaders in a search for avian activity in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. For beginners and birders of all skill levels.

Saturdays, Oct. 13, 20 and 27, 9: to 11:30 a.m. Fee: adults, $10; children ages 8 and up, $7. No registration required.

CCSI: COASTAL CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to drop in to investigate some intriguing mysteries of the marine world. Be prepared for perplexing crime scenes and exciting forensic investigations.
