Take on one of the birding world’s greatest challenges — sparrow identification — through a workshop and field trip with sanctuary director Bill Gette.

Sunday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee $60. Registration is required.

HALLOWEEN FAMILY FUN FREE-FOR-ALL

Get into the Halloween spirit. Drop in with your costume on for an hour or stay all day for stories, songs and explorations. For families with children ages 2 and up.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIRDING

Join Joppa Flats Sanctuary Director Bill Gette and USFWS veteran David Weaver for this weekly birding field trip in the Newburyport/Plum Island area. Appropriate for all birding levels.

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fee $17. Registration is not required.
