Trick-or-treaters come calling Wednesday

Local author and inspirational speaker Denise DeSimone, will be the guest speaker at a Friends of the Salisbury Public Library event on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to to the event, and copies of DeSimone’s book, “From Stage IV to Center Stage,” are available at the front desk. of the Library.

The event is free and will be held at the Library, located on Salisbury Green in Salisbury Square.

And on Tuesday, Nov. 27, the Friends hold their next book discussion club meeting. This month’s book is Muriel Barbery’s “The Elegance of the Hedgehog.”

East Parish United Methodist Church at 8 Lafayette Road (Route 1) holds its Harvest Fair on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will have craft tables, a flea market with white elephant table and a bake sale. There’s even a lunch and snack menu.

Table space is still available for vendors, at a cost of one table for $20 or a discount of two tables for $30.

Volunteers are needed at the Salisbury Hilton Senior Center. Individuals with a basic understanding of computers who would like to help teach computer skills to others are being sought. Teachers can make their own schedule.
