Salisbury community blood drive Nov. 16

SALISBURY — A community blood drive sponsored by the Salisbury Lions Club will be held Friday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Senior Center, 43 Lafayette Road, Salisbury.

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and every pint donated could save up to three lives.

The American Red Cross will provide snacks, fruit juice and bottled to those seeking to donate. Corn chowder will be available from Lions Club members Herman and Regina Fortin, owners of Lena’s Seafood restaurant in Salisbury.

In addition, every day in November, one presenting donor will be awarded a $50 gift card that can be used toward their Thanksgiving dinner.

The Red Cross is urging the public to make an appointment to donate blood by calling 1-800-RedCross (1-800-733-2767) or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
