April 1 deadline to get dog licenses

NEWBURYPORT — City officials say that dogs must be relicensed by April 1.

The city clerk’s office, which administers the licensing process, is open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Friday, the office is open from 8 a.m. until noon.

Those seeking licenses for their pets are required to bring a rabies certificate.

Cost is $10 for neutered or spayed animals and $15 for unneutered or unspayed pets

Seniors aged 65 and over do not have to pay a fee.

Also, city officials ask that residents return their census forms to City Hall.
