Pentucket's Viselli named CAL Player of Year

Girls Basketball

Pentucket senior Coley Viselli, who scored her 1,000th career point in the final week of the regular season, was named Cape Ann League Division 1 Player of the Year after a vote by the league’s coaches. Other local All-League selections included Georgetown’s Marissa Agganis and Kristin Hogan, Pentucket’s Alex Moore, Tess Nogueira and Kelsi McNamara and Newburyport’s Mary Pettigrew. Ipswich’s Julia Davis, Brigid O’Flynn and Masey Zegarowski, Hamilton-Wenham’s Cassandra Fibbe, North Reading’s Morgan Maiola, and Masconomet’s Nicole Femino, Hannah Kiernan and Claudia Marsh were also All-League selections. Local CAL All-Stars included Newburyport’s Aly Leahy and Emily Pettigrew, Georgetown’s Ali Newbury, Pentucket’s McKenna Killian and Amesbury’s Emily Martin. Triton and Amesbury earned the league’s Sportsmanship Awards.

Boys Basketball

Each of the local schools had one All-Cape Ann League selection. Amesbury’s Patrick Halloran, Newburyport’s Colton Fontaine, Triton’s Zak Alaoui, Pentucket’s Calvin Wiles and Georgetown’s Patrick Bjork earned All-League honors. Newburyport and Ipswich collected the league’s Sportsmanship Awards. Newburyport’s Matt Stack collected the McCoy Award for Courage. North Reading’s John Mastacusa and Tommy Hogan, Lynnfield’s Patrick Kearney and Connor Sullivan, Hamilton-Wenham’s James Foye, Ipswich’s Erik Fyrer, Manchester Essex’ Liam Aldrich and Max Nesbit, Masconomet’s Tighe VanLenten and Rockport’s Tucker Meredith also earned All-League selections. Local All-Stars included Amesbury’s Grant Bellino and Tommy Connors, Georgetown’s Matt Gott, Newburyport’s Dillon Guthro and Ian Michaels, and Triton’s Paul Dacy and Sam McKenzie.
