Egg Drop-Palooza to benefit Lucy's Love Bus

Newburyport Daily News

---- — AMESBURY — An estimated 30,000 treat-filled eggs are slated to fall from the sky Easter Saturday during the first Helicopter Egg Drop-Palooza at Amesbury Sports Park to benefit Lucy’s Love Bus, a local nonprofit now helping young cancer patients in 12 states.

The family-friendly event takes place Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine, at the park at 12 South Hunt Road.

In addition to the egg hunt, the event will feature helicopter rides, pony rides, face painting, egg dying a Bunny Hop Dance-Off and live music.

The egg drop will be conducted by age group, taking place at noon for ages 1 to 6, 2 p.m. for ages 7 to 12 and 4 p.m. for ages 13 to 18.

Proceeds will support Lucy’s Love Bus, which was founded by Amesbury’s Lucy Grogan to help fellow cancer patients who couldn’t get access to helpful therapies such as massage, art therapy and acupuncture. Twelve-year-old Lucy lost her four-year battle with cancer in 2006 and her mother, Beecher, has continued her mission ever since.

Admission to the Egg Drop-Palooza is $5 and registration will be capped at 5,000 participants. Parking is also $5. Tickets can be purchased online at Contact David Guarino or Chloe Gotsis at 857-239-9773 or for more information.
