Town-wide spring cleaning April 13-14

WEST NEWBURY — It may not feel like it just yet, but spring has sprung and in West Newbury that means one thing. It’s time for the annual Clean-Up Day.

This year, the community-wide event organized by Barbara Haack and Donna McGovern is slated for April 13 and 14.

Everyone in town is invited to do their part to spiff up their neighborhoods by collecting trash that has gathered along the sidewalks and roadways during the winter. Free bags and gloves will be available during the weekend in front of the Foodmart. As a precaution, people are advised to wear protective clothing to ward off ticks and poison ivy.

Filled trash bags can be left beside the road for the Highway Department to pick up the following Monday.

Residents are encouraged to make Clean-Up Day an annual tradition in their family and welcome spring by keeping West Newbury beautiful.
