Taste of Plum Island takes place May 20

PLUM ISLAND — Spring really must be here, regardless of the weather, because it is Taste of Plum Island time.

Friday, May 20, is the date, PITA Hall on Plum Island Boulevard is the place, time is 6 to 8 p.m., and ticket price is $30 per person.

Music, free parking, great raffles, special dishes from local restaurants, fattening desserts, wine and beer are all included in this not-to-be-missed island event.

The annual event helps support Plum Island Taxpayers & Associates, a volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the quality of life on Plum Island for residents and visitors alike.

Tickets are available at the following places: Mad Martha's, Dick's Variety, Surfland, Mr. Moe's and Bob Lobster. All these businesses are located on Plum Island, but tickets may also be purchased by calling Ron Barrett at 978-465-8579.

Buy a ticket, come early, enjoy meeting neighbors and friends and stay until the end when the raffle numbers are called.
