Pentucket School Safety Forum slated for Jan. 17

WEST NEWBURY — Superintendent Jeff Mulqueen is partnering with chiefs of police from the three towns of the Pentucket Regional School District to bring a School Safety Forum to the public this month.

The open meeting is slated for Thursday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Pentucket High School cafeteria.

State Trooper Kevin Coughlin, who has been assisting the district in conducting safety assessments of the schools following the deadly school shooting in Newtown, Conn., last month, will be on hand to provide an overview of school safety and some initial impressions of the Pentucket school safety assessment.

Coughlin will also provide “guidance as we take next steps,” stated Mulqueen in a press release issued on yesterday.
