Treasures still sought for Historical Society auction

---- — NEWBURYPORT – Though the author is unknown, the sentiment is accurate: “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”

Extended through Friday, Feb. 1, the Historical Society of Old Newbury (www.NewburyHist.org) will be taking consignments for March 9’s ’Bury Treasures Auction.

“We welcome donations, as well as consignments for this very popular auction,” curator Jay Williamson said in a press release. “The auction has proven to be exceedingly popular, offering many wonderful and affordable finds.”

If you have paintings, prints, vintage items, jewelry, toys, mirrors, furniture, china, candlesticks, marine-related items, silver, tools, ceramics, pottery and any Newbury/Newburyport-related items in your attic or basement, a consultation is your first step.

The auction is set for Saturday, March 9 at the Masonic Hall in Newburyport.
