Democratic Youth Convention taking registrations

Those interested in participating in the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Youth Convention to be held this summer have until March 31 at mignight to submit an online application available at www.massdems.org/2013-youth-convention.

The Youth Convention will be held immediately following the June 1 Democratic State Convention, taking place at the Tsongas Center Arena at the UMass Lowell.

The party is opening up the convention to high-school age boys and girls who have an interest in the political process and the Democratic Party. The cost of the Youth Convention is $10, with a liberal fee waiver policy to ensure that all interested young adults are able to attend.

Participants will need the sponsorship of any member of the Democratic State Committee or Salisbury Democratic Town Committee or a Democratic elected official.

Salisbury Council on Aging provides weekly exercise opportunities for local residents at the Hilton Senior Center on Lafayette Road.

Three Zumba programs are offered. All ages are welcome and participants work at their own pace. The schedule is:

Wednesdays, 9 a.m., Zumba Gold with Stephanie Smith, $3

Thursdays, 5:30 p.m., Intergenerational Zumba with Amy Ward, $5

Fridays, 9:30 a.m., Zumba Toning with Susan Tribble, $4
