Do Drop-In play group, session 1 — Thursdays through Feb. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to noon: It’s a little like a play group, a little like a library visit and a whole lot of fun. Miss Olivia welcomes children of all ages to come play at the library, on the playground and inside with toys, crafts and books. The program for all ages accompanied by caregivers offers a chance to meet new friends, reconnect with some old ones, burn some energy and cool down, all at once. Snacks are allowed in the large meeting room. Enrollment is not required.
Simple & Sweet Story Time — Fridays through Feb. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to noon: Bringing back classic story time, Miss Olivia happily leads the group through some song and dance as well as a few of her favorite read-alouds, appropriate for the very young and their siblings and friends. The program is aimed at ages 0 to 4 accompanied by caregivers. Registration is recommended by calling 978-465-0539 or emailing email@example.com.
Beginner Knitters — Wednesdays, 3:30 to 5 p.m.: Donna Callahan is teaching beginner knitters in her teen and preteen knitting group. Callahan provides all the materials needed; all participants need to bring is a desire to learn how to knit. Registration is required.
Friends of Newbury Town Library — second Thursday of every month at 10 a.m.: Are you interested in helping out the library? Do you enjoy fundraising or meeting new people? The nonprofit friends group sponsors library programs, museum passes and more. The group is looking for a few more members to serve on its executive board. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend a meeting or call the library at 978-465-0539.
