Whittier Vo-Tech program Feb. 13: Join us for a special Valentine’s Day treat when the culinary arts students from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School will be on hand to present a special Valentine’s Day lunch to Georgetown elders. Along with the culinary arts students, students from the health occupation program will be on hand to assist and share in conversation. A $3 donation is suggested to support the culinary arts program at Whittier. To make reservations, call the COA by Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Tarr’s staff to hold office hours Feb. 14: Beginning Thursday, Feb. 14, Susan Testaverde, chief of staff with Sen. Bruce Tarr’s office, will hold office hours from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the second floor conference room at Town Hall. The public is welcome.

February birthday party Feb. 19: Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 11:30 a.m., to send best wishes to our friends who were born in February as the COA hosts the monthly birthday at the First Congregational Church. February birthday celebrants will receive a free lunch (everyone else is $2). To make reservations, call the COA by Tuesday, Feb. 12.

COA Friends to meet Feb. 19: The Friends of the Georgetown Council on Aging will meet Tuesday, Feb. 19, 3 p.m., at the Georgetown Peabody Library. New members are welcome.

New education series for caregivers to begin Feb. 26: Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, a new education series will provide families of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia or memory disorders with education and practical tools for caring for someone with dementia beginning Tuesday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church. The Essential Skills for Caregivers Series is a three-part program that will be offered Tuesdays Feb. 26, March 5 and 12, 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church. Individuals may attend one program or all three programs. Refreshments will be served.
