Breakfast and Bald Eagles

Meet at the Riverside Cafe in the Towle building, 260 Merrimack St., Newburyport

Join Newburyport Birders for a classic breakfast while discussing the Merrimack River, the protected island and the field marks of the Bald Eagle. The group will then search for eagles along the Merrimack River and carpool to several sites along the river. Dress in layers and wear warm, waterproof boots.

Sunday Afternoon with Bald Eagles

Sunday, Feb. 24, 3:30 p.m. to dusk

Fee: $25

Meet at Newburyport’s Cashman Park Boat Launch at the end of Sally Snyder Way (off of Merrimac Street, Newburyport)

Search for Bald Eagles while learning about the field marks, bill size and shape, cere and talons, eyes, hunting style, flight speed and altitude, their plumage and more.

The group will travel along the edge of the Merrimack River and walk on snow and unimproved trails. Dress in layers for outdoor weather including waterproof boots, wool socks, hat and gloves. Bring binoculars if you have them.
