The Zoning Board of Appeals is in dire need of volunteers to serve on the board and as alternates. Three positions — one full-time member and two alternates — are open. For more information about the ZBA or to learn more about volunteering, call the town manager’s office at 978-465-2310, ext. 100.

Selectmen approved two upcoming races in town, both of which will take place at the beach.

The third annual Frosty Knuckle 5K road race will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16, and Smuttynose Palooza 5K is set for Saturday, March 9. Both races begin and end at the beach.

Those seeking some Valentine’s Day fun should make their reservations by Friday for the Salisbury Council on Aging’s Valentine’s Day Lunch and Comedy Show.

The event takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at noon at Hilton Senior Center on Lafayette Road. Chinese food will be served as comedian David Shikes brightens the day with laughter. Tickets are $5 per person. For more information or to make a reservation, call the COA at 978-462-2412.

Sea Spray Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Monday, Feb 11, at 7 p.m., at East Parish United Methodist Church, 8 Lafayette Road, Salisbury.

This is the club’s annual potluck supper and Yankee swap of small, but lovely, floral arrangements. It is a great opportunity for potential members to meet fellow gardeners and have an enjoyable evening.

The Salisbury Chamber of Commerce will hold a pizza party for its February dinner meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. at Leo’s Superbowl, 84 Haverhill Road (Route 110), Amesbury.

The event will be a chance for members to meet, mingle and network. Admission is free to members. Reservations are requested by Feb. 16 by calling the chamber at 978-465-3581.
