Atria Merrimack Place sold for $20M

Official says no changes in care expected

NEWBURYPORT — Atria Merrimack Place, a senior-living center at 85 Storey Ave., has been sold for $19,939,727, according to court records.

The seller was HCRI Massachusetts Properties Trust II, based in Toledo. Buyer is VTR Northeast Holdings, LLC, with a Louisville address.

Atria Merrimack Place executive director Mary Donovan said there will be no major changes and care at the 80-unit facility will continue as usual.

HCRI purchased Atria in 2002 for $12.3 million, city records show. The property includes about 60,695 square feet of living space and almost 250,000 square feet of land.
