Kids bake Valentine cookies

Kids Valentine’s Cookie Bake will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. Kids will decorate cookies and deliver them to someone they wish or one of the church shut-ins. Shrove Tuesday fundraiser at Central Congregational

A Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner fundraiser to benefit the Music Committee/Easter Brass Ensemble will be held Tuesday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Central Congregational Church, 14 Titcomb St.,

Newburyport. Suggested donation is $8, seniors and children, $5, with a family maximum of $20.

Shrove Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church

A Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner and children’s activities for Mardi Gras will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the St. James Parish Hall, 120 Main St., Amesbury. Suggested donation is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and children under the age of 12 and family maximum of $15. Check www.stjamesamesbury.org for additional information.

Ash Wednesday Service in Merrimacport

Ash Wednesday Service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Merrimacport United Methodist Church, 39 High St. (corner of River Road) in Merrimac. The community is welcome. More information available at 978-346-8989 or www.MerrimacportUMC.org.

Lenten services at Immaculate Conception Parish

Ash Wednesday: Ashes will be distributed at the following Liturgies: 7:15 a.m., 9 a.m. School Liturgy,12:05 p.m., 7 p.m.

Eucharistic Adoration, St. James Chapel: During Lent the Friday time of Eucharistic Adoration will conclude with Benediction at 11:30 a.m. because of the 12:05 Liturgy.

Stations of the Cross: Fridays, 7 p.m. in the church. Many parishioners remember the Stations of the Cross as a regular part of Lenten Devotions. Join us as we meditate on the Passion and Death of Jesus in prayer and simple song.

Liturgy: During Lent there will be two daily liturgies Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. and 12:05 p.m.
