Diversity and Tolerance Commission seeks grant proposals

NEWBURYPORT — Newburyport’s Commission for Diversity and Tolerance is requesting proposals from individuals and organizations in Newburyport for its annual mini-grant awards. The commission was established in 2005 from the work of a group of community members who wanted to further a sense of welcome and inclusion in Newburyport. It is through the fundraising efforts of the organization Friends For Peace, Inc. that the commission is able to offer these mini-grants.

Grant proposals must provide for an activity to educate or to promote the commission’s mission of creating a sense of welcome, inclusion and worth to all, as well as working toward the elimination of prejudice, intolerance, discrimination and acts of hate in Newburyport. Applications are due March 15.

For an application or more information, email the Commission for Diversity and Tolerance at nbptcdt@gmail.com. For more on the commission, visit www.nbptcdt.com.
