This Day in History

On this day in 1904, Newburyport’s Edward H. Little became the region’s youngest bank president when he succeeded his father, Henry Bailey Little, as president of Ipswich National Bank. The change was due to a new state law prohibiting the same man from simultaneously serving as president of a national bank and a savings bank.
