---- — GROVELAND — The Langley-Adams Library will present the following programs this month:

From Slave Songs to Hip Hop: The Evolution of American Music: Kevin Comtois from Northern Essex Community College will present how American Music has evolved over the past few centuries. An emphasis will be placed on the social and political context of the music and messages the songs were trying to convey. The event is sponsored by the NECC Speakers Bureau. The event will be held Monday, Feb. 25, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Local Author K.D. Mason will present his newest book in his Jack Beale mystery series. You will be familiar with the setting of “Killer Run” as he mentions Maudslay State Park and Ipswich then travels to Leavitt, N.H. Come talk with the author, hear about his books and have him sign them for you. His presentation will be at Nichols Village on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
