Governor's Academy students win writing awards

BYFIELD — Fifteen students at The Governor’s Academy garnered 19 writing awards in the 2013 Boston Globe Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The Governor’s Academy took home twice as many awards this year as in 2012 and ranked third in the ISL for the number of awards earned.

This annual competition, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary, recognizes student works for their originality, technical mastery and distinctive vision or voice. More than 14,000 individual works in 27 categories were juried by teams of celebrated Massachusetts artists and writers.
