Finance Committee looks to fill vacancy

NEWBURY — The Finance Committee is seeking a registered voter to replace Frank Wetenkamp, who has resigned because he has accepted a job in Florida.

According to a memo from committee chairman Frank Remley, the ideal candidate would have a college degree, possess significant experience in business or government finance, planning and budgeting; be able to attend at least 80 percent of monthly and special meetings, be able to work objectively in a team environment and have an appreciation for Newbury’s government, culture and diverse operational needs.

The successful candidate should also be free from conflicts of interest. Specifically, committee members must not be elected officials, town employees or a member of a paid board or committee. The Finance Committee is a volunteer board.

Interested candidates should submit their qualifications to the selectmen’s office with copies to the town administrator and Finance Committee chairman no later than Monday, March 4. Questions may be directed to Remley at jfremley@alumni.princeton.edu or 978-465-0922.
