Several take out nomination papers

The annual town election on Tuesday, May 14, may seem far away, but for those interested in running for office, March 22 is the last day to pick up nomination papers at the town clerk’s office. The deadline for submission of papers is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

There are more than a dozen positions open in town government, including two positions on the Board of Selectmen, three on the library board and two on the Planning Board. The following residents have taken out nomination papers:

Diane D’Angeli, 535 Haverhill St., incumbent — Board of Assessors (three-year term)

Stuart L. Dalzell Sr., 60 Warehouse Lane, incumbent — Board of Selectmen (three-year term)

G. Robert Merry, 40 Warehouse Lane, incumbent — Board of Selectmen (three-year term)

Peter Dalzell, 40 Warehouse Lane, Incumbent — cemetery commissioner (three-year term)

Michelle Ford, 51 Hammond St., incumbent — library trustee (three-year term)

Michel Quinn, 18 School St. — library trustee (one-year unexpired term)

Eve Marie Miller, 51 Bennett Hill Road — library trustee (one-year unexpired term)

Clifford Pierce, 399 Wethersfield St., incumbent — Planning Board (five-year term)

Paul Lees, 71 Wilson Pond Road, incumbent — School Committee (three-year term)

Scott C. Martin, 3 Wethersfield St., incumbent — water commissioner (three-year term)

Richard MacDonald, 52 Summer St. — constable (three-year term)

Incumbent Nathaniel Dummer has announced that he will not be seeking re-election as constable.

Robert Snow, 7 Saunders Lane — light commissioner (three-year term)

Merle Phipps, 18 Fenno Drive — light commissioner (three-year term)

David C. Petersen, 25 Newbury Road — water board (three-year term)

No nomination papers have yet been pulled for two open three-year terms on the library board, one three-year term on the Shellfish Commission, one one-year unexpired term on the Triton Regional School Committee, and one two-year unexpired term on the Planning Board.


Pine Grove School will host a kindergarten Parent Information Night on Thursday, March 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for those attending kindergarten for the first time this fall. Children must be 5 years old before Aug. 31, 2013, to attend kindergarten this year.
